Suspended Nascar Truck driver admits using heroin on race days
When Aaron Fike, a driver in Nascar’s Craftsman Truck series, was arrested for heroin possession last summer, the world of American motorsport was understandably shocked. In an interview with ESPN Magazine, Fike has also confessed that his once-a-week experiment with heroin had become a daily routine, including on some race days. No wonder he looks so damn happy in this photo, which was taken prior to a race in Daytona in February 2007. After Fike was caught with heroin in July 200, in a parking lot at the King’s Island amusement park in Ohio (where, trivia fans, Evel Knievel jumped 14 Greyhound buses in 1975), Nascar suspended him for an indefinite period of time. Call it a “smack” on the wrists.
