The best pictures yet of Ferrari’s new “nose with the hole”

Is there still a spy in Ferrari’s midst? Alleged spy Nigel Stepney was fired by the team last year, but that didn’t stop details of the Scuderia’s radical new nose – notable for the scooped hole in the top of it (see photo, above) – being leaked by Italian magazine Autosprint. The mag printed sketches of the design in February, causing panic amongst the ranks of the Prancing Horse. Maranello’s technical director Aldo Costa was reportedly “horrified” by the leak, claiming that “very few” Ferrari employees knew about the nose innovations when they were being tested in the team’s wind tunnel. Ferrari are using the new nose in testing this week in Barcelona. It seems to be working well for them so far: as reported earlier today, Felipe Massa was fastest on day one.
