FIA chief will duck Spanish Grand Prix after Jordanian invite
Herr Max Mosley, whose friends are disappearing faster than Anna Kournikova, has been offered safe passage and refuge at this month’s World Rally round in Jordan. The FIA kaiser will therefore not have to confront the awkward problem of whether or not to attend the Formula 1 Spanish GP, which takes place on the same weekend. What’s the German for “phew”?
The crown prince of Jordan, Prince Feisal Al Hussein, has invited Mosley to mark the nations’ first appearance on the World Rally Championship calendar. “Max has been a strong friend and ally to Jordan and has supported us since we announced our bid three years ago,” the prince said on the Jordan Rally’s website.
It’s not all good news for Max though. Motorsport South Africa said yesterday that it planned to vote against Mosley at the extraordinary general assembly in Paris: “Every single board member agreed that Max Mosley should stand down,” said MSA director Beaulah Schoeman.
