Martin Brundle and co. win award for Canadian GP show
ITV Sport’s F1 team have won a second successive BAFTA, this time for their coverage of the incident-packed 2007 Canadian Grand Prix. Montreal ‘07 saw Lewis Hamilton’s first ever F1 win, four safety cars, and Robert Kubica’s spectacular crash (which you can enjoy here from a great angle, safe in the knowledge that the Pole walked away).
This is a richly deserved award for one of the best sport broadcasting teams around. We won’t miss the constant breaks for TV ads when F1 returns to the BBC in 2009, but we will miss their professionalism. Imagine you’re in charge of the Beeb’s F1 coverage for next season – if you could poach just one of ITV’s team, who would you choose? Vote below:
For the record, Grid Crasher would poach Martin Brundle, who is the best F1 broadcaster in the business.

Danica Patrick is not good enough for F1
Don’t mess with Kimi Raikkonen’s wife
