Filming on the new Bond movie has been suspended after three accidents in five days, prompting claims that the film is “jinxed”, “cursed by gypsies”, and “burdened with a shit title”. The latest unhappy accident saw an Alfa Romeo 159 collide with a lorry, then a wall, during the shooting of a de rigeur chase scene. The crash left stunt driver Aris Comninos in a coma. He is currently in intensive care in a hospital in Verona.

The first auto mishap occurred on Saturday when Jonathan Dunn Fraser, an Aston Martin worker, was delivering a one-off DBS sports car to the set. He lost control of the car on a wet, winding road, and plunged into Lake Garda. In a second accident, on Monday, during shooting of yet another car chase, a stuntman was injured, albeit not seriously.
