Monaco car manufacturer dedicates new model to slaphead royal
Monaco has more supercars-per-square-mile than any other place on the planet. We actually made up that stat, but surely it must be true. The principality now has its own head-turner to boast of: the ALA 50, a supercar manufactured by the small but perfectly formed Monte Carlo Automobile company.
The name ALA 50 is a tribute to Prince Albert, the bald-headed royal who celebrated his 50th birthday in March - that’s a bit creepy, we find. The car is made entirely of carbon fibre and is powered by a 650hp V8 engine. The ALA 50’s stand-out design feature is an enclosed rear wheel, which lends it the appearance of a car that might be driven by a gay superhero.
After the official launch of the ALA 50 racing car later this year, a road-going version will be produced to order.
