Jenson Button and co. will hit the catwalk for charity fashion show
The better-looking F1 drivers – including Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Jenson Button, Nelson Piquet Jnr, Mark Webber and David Coulthard – are set to exchange racing overalls for designer clothes, as part of an exclusive F1 fashion show. How do they find the time to drive? The show will take place in Monte Carlo on Friday 23rd May, two days before this season’s Monaco Grand Prix. The lucky drivers will be forced to show off FORM’s new menswear collection, which has been designed by a certain Petra Ecclestone. Ain’t nepotism a wonderful thing.
Some of the drivers’ WAGS, plus several supermodels, will also star in the show, which is in support of Elton John’s Aids Foundation - so we can’t make too much fun of it. However, we can make fun of the photo we found in the archives that accompanies this story – check out little Fernando Alonso, back right, who not only has to play second fiddle to Jenson Button (Alonso was a test driver for Renault at the time), but also has to wear what looks like a leather waistcoat with flip-flops. How times have changed.
