McLaren star says he can win French GP, despite grid penalty
Never one to lack self-belief, Lewis Hamilton maintains he can still win the French GP (22 June), despite being hit with a 10-place grid penalty, after his controversial pit-lane clash with Kimi Raikkonen in Montreal.
“We know we are sort of on the back foot already but knowing the pace and the momentum we had already from the last race it just shows that anything can happen,” Hamilton said. “I feel quite confident that we can still win. That’s my job - I have got to have that sort of belief in myself and the team and I truly do.”
Magny-Cours is a difficult circuit to overtake on, but we’ve seen Hamilton drive like a man possessed from the back of the field before, and wouldn’t be shocked to see him do it again.

It is arrogant of him to simply dismiss those whom against he is racing. Does he think they are on go-karts while he is the only one in an F1 car.
Look have self belief but be pragmatic and a bit more modest. Saying I am going to win before you have even driven there on friday practice is simply arrogant. If he was in a Honda, he probaly would be saying he can be world champion.
He needs to calm down.
