Spectators take legal action against Japanese circuit
More than 100 greedy angry fans are suing Japanese Grand Prix venue Fuji Speedway, after claiming organisers of the 2007 F1 Japanese GP failed to provide adequate toilet, convenience and other spectator facilities.
The lawsuit, filed with the Tokyo District Court on Tuesday, also alleges that spectators were stranded outside the circuit in the rain (in the rain, no less! Someone invent an umbrella already!) due to transport problems. The plaintiffs are seeking 32m yen (approx. £150,000) in damages.
It also emerged following the 2007 GP, now hosted at the Toyota-owned Fuji track following many years at Suzuka, that some grandstand seats featured obstructed views. Doh! Or, as the Japanese say, ドーãƒ! (according to Babelfish, anyway).
