Halfway through the 2008 season, Grid Crasher rates each F1 team, starting with the inappropriately named Force India

Read our verdict on Force India below:
In the absence of Super Aguri, Force India is clearly the weakest outfit in the paddock. The team has yet to score any points, with Fisi’s tenth place in Spain its best finish. Fisichella is clearly having no fun at the back of the field, and at times he’s made errors that bely his massive experience - like the incident in Turkey, when he drove over the top of Kazuki Nakajima. Team-mate Adrian Sutil has fared even worse, retiring in six of the first nine races. The German is yet to finish higher than 16th - that’s a woeful record.
Sutil’s shockingly good drive in Monaco was a rare high point for the team, at least until Kimi Raikkonen drove into the back of him. Apart from that, there has been little to cheer about for Force India fans - F1 is so competitive this season, and although the VJM01 is far from the worst car we’ve ever seen, it’s not quite good enough to compete with the big manufacturers.
Owner Vijay Mallyahas certainly added some much-needed spice to the paddock, but until his team starts threatening the points, few people will take the outsiders seriously.
Grade D
Targets for the second half of the season? A point would be nice. Just one.
