“Bloody foreigner” … in Hungary, where the plaque is located, you are actually the foreigner (same here). Besides I’m pretty sure that some (though very few) non-foreigners-in-the-uk are not even able to properly spell their own bloody names.

In response to “asshole brits” comment. At no point does the author suggest everyone should speak English. The fact they spelt the name of someone wrong (which can not and should not be attempted to be translated to another name) is poor management of the project. It is also unforgivable a F1 sanctioned GP track does not know who it’s winners are actually called. I have been to the Hungarian GP and overall it is well organised. However, it is with shock that no one commissioning this sculpture opened the program guide, looked at the FIA timing screens, went to the over hang of Lewis’ garage, opened a local newspaper, or even asked a Press Officer at McLaren for confirmation of his name. The FIA even supply the circuit with a list of entrants each year. I think you’ll find that most if not all leading English language F1 websites continue to spell non english driver names correctly. Finally, for your information Jakob Ludwig Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy has no hyphen between Mendelssohn & Bartholdy.

you’re wrong … there are many other languages in the world that probably u wolud even not spell wright the word NO …

Ha ha ha ha … Bloody foreigner’s ! I bet if you asked 1 Billion people how to spell his name 99% would get it right … You would at least check it for something to be kept such as a commemorative plaque … Im now worried that I have spelling mistakes in this text, ha ha ha … Oh the irony of it all !
