Three vids to make Felipe Massa feel better
1. 1982 Monaco Grand Prix
Poor Didier Pironi led on the final lap but his car broke down in the famous tunnel. Andrea de Cesaris then stopped on the approach to the casino complex, allowing Riccardo Patrese - who had already spun out - to trundle over the finishing line in his re-started Brabham.

2. 1991 Canadian Grand Prix
One of the most embarrassing last-lap breakdowns in F1 history. Nigel Mansell was waving to the crowd, in anticipation of a comfortable win - he had led from the first corner - when his glove flicked the engine kill switch and his car stopped. Or, he let his revs drop too low and the engine simply cut out. Mansell, ever the proud driver, denies either story to this day, claiming there was a technical failure.
3. 2001 Spanish Grand Prix
Mika Hakkinen’s clutch broke with half a lap to go, “handing the race win on a silver platter to Michael Schumacher”. Bummer.

How about when Kimi’s right front suspension imploded on the last lap when he was still with McLaren?
