McLaren boss hits back at former driver
No doubt fed up with Alonso’s big mouth, Ron Dennis has returned fire with a verbal volley in the Spaniard’s general direction. Speaking about the prickly subject of team orders at Hungary last weekend, Ron said:
“When you’re in a team and you know your teammate has the opportunity to win the race and you don’t, if you have the right values that are not lodged solely and exclusively in your own motives and your own objectives and your own selfishness, then you take a decision which is to allow the driver past and allow him a chance to win the race.”
He also insisted that “only one” former McLaren driver has ever complained about driver inequality. Hmm, wonder who that might be?
Alonso claimed recently that even if he had stayed at McLaren in 2008, he wouldn’t be given the same chances to win races as Lewis Hamilton - a ridiculous claim that no one really believes.
It’s clear that Dennis is much happier with his 2008 driver line-up than he was last season.
“You can’t see any strings leading to Heikki’s shoulders or you can’t see anyone’s hands up his back,” Dennis said, in another thinly veiled dig at Alonso.

blah blah blah moRon stfu you dickhead!!!! You had the best driver line up in 2007 and you bLew it yet again!!!!! you secretly backed “your rookie” against the double world champion trying to win his 3rd title, and instead of helping him and keeping all the sponsors happy and Mercedes, you messed up trying to hand your rookie the title!!!! and you failed! Mercedes want you out, and who can blame them?? You lost both championships on your own last year because everyone trusted you to deliver, and your faith in Hamilton proved a stretch too far….he messed up and so did the team!!!! Alonso is out to win championships for Alonso, and if you give the best driver the best car, he will score points for the constructor as a by product of his own points for the championship!!!! if you dont understand this about drivers yet it is because you are a fukkin control freak, always trying to manipulate people but with drivers it seems mostly failing!!! Montoya and Couldthard have both spoken recently about there being “favouritism” in the McLaren team, so its b/s to deny it now, and thats without mentioning “our dear friend Alain” , and his comments after his stint with Ayrton opposite!!!! i loved the “Ronspeak” articles on Atlas forums a couple of years back, they were so funny and now i see why!!!

Cheap shot Ron, if Alonso’s contractually bound to silence until his 2-year McLaren contract runs out. But you’re right Alonso’s badly managed. Why’s he wasting up to 20% of his earnings on a poorly-trained group of monkeys? Are they the same ones who ‘advise’ Jenson Button?
