MSN’s grandiosely-titled Supercar Correspondent, Nick Hall, has today put together a list of the best cars he has ever driven. As you would imagine, a supercar correspondent (at least we think that’s what he is - perhaps he is just a super car correspondent) has access to some fairly high-end cars. You know, the sort of cars that you and I would not be found driving without an accompanying police helicopter. The Pagani Zonda F Roadster is in there, the Ferrari F430 and the McLaren F1 are there, and (shock, horror) the Bugatti Veyron is there.
But hidden among this illustrious company is the humble Peugeot 106 GTi. It costs 10 per cent of the next cheapest car in the list, the BMW M3. “The 106 is dinky, cheap as chips and within the budget of even the learner driver, if they can insure it, but then it’s a complete go-kart of a car that longs for opposite lock and the kind of long, lurid slides that keen drivers go to sleep thinking about,” said Hall, defending his choice.
Do you the Peugeot 106 GTi warrants its place in this list? Are there any reasonably priced cars that you rank as highly as the aforementioned supercars? Let us know below.
