Ferrari’s test warning to McLaren
Following the morning session of yesterday’s Formula One test at Monza, we informed you that the Williams of Nico Rosberg was the quickest man on the track. By the end of the day, natural order had been resumed and everything was right in the universe. Ferrari’s Felipe Massa continued his wonderful recent run by topping the timesheets for the first day of testing. It was the teams’ first chance to test since the end of the five-week summer ban.
Ferrari took the opportunity to fire a warning shot in the general direction of Lewis Hamilton and McLaren. Many pundits have suggested that Hamilton will have to write-off the Belgian Grand Prix in 10 days time as a Ferrari win and focus his attention on the Italian Grand Prix a week later instead. But Ferrari showed they will be no slouches in Monza with Massa leading the way once again.
The Brazilian completed 101 laps of the Italian circuit as the teams worked on their low downforce aerodynamic packed which will be used at the Monza race.

You have noticed that it is 100th of a second between the Ferrari and the McLaren … Hardly anything to sing and dance about in my opinion … I think Ferrari have a lot to worry about … If it was Lewis in the car … I bet the headline would have been slightly different ?

We shall see tomorrow, Ben, when Lewis gets his chance to send out a signal of intent but I bet McLaren were hoping even Kovalainen would be quicker than Massa at Monza.
