For your consideration: The Fast and the Furious 4

The world probably didn’t need a Fast and Furious 2 and 3, but that didn’t stop producers from churning out a couple of truly shit sequels, neither of which featured the star of the original, Vin Diesel.

Now Vin (real name: Mark Vincent) returns to the F&F franchise for a third time, having tried and failed to turn himself in to a Bruce Willis-style action hero for the 21st century. One Bruce Willis is quite enough, thanks.

Vin/Mark is rejoined by Paul Walker - who did at least stick around for 2 Fast 2 Furious - for the fourth F&F outing, due to be released next summer. Walker tried and failed to turn himself into a Brad Pitt-style leading man, but his efforts were hampered by the fact he can’t act.

Anyhoo, we won’t watch F&F4 to see Diesel and Walker chew up some of the most wooden buddy dialogue since the last Kimi Raikkonen press conference we had to sit through. No, we’ll watch it for the cars and the girls (Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster are also back), and not in that order.

At least it looks like turning out a whole lot better than the second and third movies. Faint praise, but praise nonetheless.
