Cameraman gets rudely acquainted with Subaru Impreza

Here’s yet another reason why I won’t be going to a Rally meet any time soon. The brakes on this Subaru Impreza fail, and faced with a crowd behind the yellow tape the driver has little choice except to steer it off the road. Unfortunately, a gentleman and his tripod get in the way.

If you know any more about this incident (names, whether the cameraman was OK etc) then let us know with a comment below.

Yes, the cameraman is okay. A little banged up, but he’s fine (nothing broken). The driver made a split second decision to avoid the firetrucks and people standing behind the barriers, and didn’t notice the cameraman at the side of the road.

I was also shooting this event, and have been shooting rallies for almost 10 years and never felt in danger. If you haven’t been to a rally, you should really go check one out. Don’t let a few internet videos deter you…just stand in sensible places.
