Italian is champion once again
MotoGP living legend Velentino Rossi secured his sixth world title with a dominant performance at the Japanese Grand Prix yesterday. The title is the Fiat Yamaha rider’s first since 2005. The 29-year-old’s victory gave him an unbeatable 92-point lead with three races still remaining.
“It’s a great victory and a great achievement,” he said. “It’s at the same level as the first title with Yamaha in 2004, maybe even better.” Rossi had to pass title rival Casey Stoner during the race to claim his victory. And the Italian showed no sign of being content with his six championship victories.
“I hope we will have more together,” he added. “Now I have to get used to being world champion again! I think this is the hardest I have ever had to work to win a world championship and I have to say a huge thank you to the team.”
It has all been said before, but what a legend!
