McLaren driver cleared in government investigation
An investigation into a Grenadan land deal involving Lewis Hamilton has concluded that the F1 star did not act inappropriately. The island’s new prime minister, Tillman Thomas, announced on Friday that he was launching an investigation into the deal and other land contracts awarded during the tenure of his predecessor Keith Mitchell.
“The attorney general has reviewed the contractual deal associated with the transactions, and has found no case of impropriety on the part of the Lewis Hamilton team,” tourism minister Peter David said.
Hamilton paid $35 million to purchase the Grenada Grand Beach Resort on the island where his paternal grandfather lives. Rumours about the circumstances of the deal, particularly that Hamilton had been granted some big tax breaks and additional land around the resort, prompted the investigation. While it seems some sort of deal was struck to exchange tax breaks for the use of Hamilton’s image in Grenadan tourism campaigns, all of the dealing were deemed to be legitimate.
Lewis will probably be pleased to have emerged on the winning side of an investigation for once! Apologies about the photo quality, but blame the Grenadan government!

Way to go, Lewey. Nice little nest egg for Nicole and you. At least the people in Grenada love you and appreciate how brilliant you are unlike the hoardes of nasty racists in your own country.
