Sao Paulo, the venue of the Brazilian GP, is set to be hit by scattered thunderstorms and showers this weekend. There’s a 60% chance of rain on both Saturday and Sunday, news that will delight McLaren and Lewis Hamilton, who have owned in the wet in 2008.

Conversely, Felipe Massa is absolutely pants on a slippery track, as he proved at Silverstone this season, when his Ferrari took on the appearance of a clown car.

That said, rain increases every driver’s chances of making a visit to the gravel trap, so the forecast may affect McLaren’s approach to the race - being cautious on a damp track is a very dangerous tactic.
