… Eddie Irvine thinks so
Irish motormouth Eddie Irvine, who spent a couple of seasons with the Scuderia, as Schumi’s wingman, thinks that Lewis Hamilton should move to Ferrari at some stage.
“He may win a couple more with McLaren and he’s loyal to Ron Dennis but he’s got to move to Ferrari at some point,” Irvine said.
However, Lewis has made it very clear that he wants to spend his whole F1 career at McLaren. But would he stand a better chance of beating Schumi’s record seven world titles in a Ferrari?
It’s debatable. Ferrari is a more competitive team than McLaren, with more resources and cash to play with - they make fewer strategic mistakes, too. But Lewis views McLaren as part of his family, a level of affection that Ferrari could never buy.
The key could be Ron Dennis. When Ron goes - it could even be before the start of the 2009 season - Lewis will lose a father figure. That could tempt him to see red.

if luca di montymoron wants hammerlips before alonso then hes an idiot!!! alonso has shown he is the best driver this year, bringing an absolute pig of a car at the begginning of the year into a podium winning car in 4 of the last 5 races!!! meanwhile this season, McIdiots have actually gone backwards!!! (part of the reason for McIdiots poor showing in the constructors title battle has to be down to that no-hoper from Finland Kovalainen!!! he has been an absolute disaster in the McJalopy!!! If Alonso is not announced tomorrow as a Ferrari driver for 2009, (with Raikkonen moving to Renault for next year), then di Montezemolo really needs to go and get a mental health check because he must be feeling the strain if this seasons performances by Raikkonen are acceptable to him!!!!!!!!! muhahahahahahahaha!!

For “plums and pears”:
I think you should know what Ferrari did to Kimi this season! He was the best driver before team decided to change some things, setup or whatever!
That was OK for Felipe, but not for Kimi. At Spa, Kimi get the old car and he was at least fast as Massa, even faster (Spa, Fuji, Shnghai)! We’ll see next season what’s going to happend!

Ferrari has been the boss all the time… and in Kimi’s defense (though he doesn’t really need it), he has done absolutely everything he can … even help support Massa towards winning the championship (unlike Heiki with Hamilton… Heiki didn’t do JACK…) Mc Laren has been investing everything on their baby Hammy and didn’t really put much effort for the team mate. Kimi is a great driver… but Ferrari has been F-N with his car wayyyy to much without even paying much attention to whether or not it’s bringing out the best of the driver.

I agree totally with you plums and pears, Alonso will swap with Kimi simply because Kimi forced an extension to his contact by activating an option should he reach certain points tally AND Ferrari are livid about it. Plus Flavio is his manager and wants the best for him before Renault I may dear to add.
And that smug second Finn at McLaren should really admit that his contract states No.2 status and accept the forever support role and not be ashamed of it. Or am I being too generous with him
I will be very disappointed if Alonso is not in a Ferrari tomorrow or at least a BMW, swapping with the out-of favor Kubica.

what a pretty sight to see all you ferrari friends losing - the best driver over the whole season wins. Hamilton rocks… McClaren for a few seasons (champ) and then maybe BMW or Toyota (wins again). Maybe it is Raikkonen who should be moving teams
