Passionate Fans hijack a Grid Crasher poll
You may have noticed that the 22,000-odd votes we have received on our Who is your driver of the season? poll represents an ever-so-slightly higher voter turnout than we are used to. The sudden interest in democracy does not appear to be fueled by an overwhelming feeling that Robert Kubica was the best driver in the F1 2008 season (although he is obviously a very strong contender), but because Polish fans have hijacked the poll. We were aware that Speedway is huge in Poland, but we had no idea Kubica has stirred up such an F1 frenzy in the central European nation.
The Canadian grand Prix winner has confirmed another year with BMW Sauber, but do you think he deserves to be in a faster car? Should he join Lewis Hamilton at McLaren? Let us know below (preferably in English!)…

Ollie — Kubica is a good driver but towards the end of the season I am wondering if he is going to be the next Kimi Raikkonen. Always going to blame someone else for his problems, people will keep him in high regard, but all in all he is an overvalued driver that will only get a championship through luck. I hope that will not be the case because I kind of like the idea of Kubica and Alonso on the same team cleaning up. But, we will see where that goes…

No, Kubica will never join McLaren to be Hamilton’s puppy…

“Should he join Lewis Hamilton at McLaren?”
Never! Kubica’s too good to play second fiddle and move over as fast as possible, which will be the role of every McLaren driver als long as Hamilton drives there.
But yes, I’d very much like Kubica to have a car able to challenge for the championship. Drivers like Hamilton or Massa wouldn’t have a chance.

to Mark Stevenson:
I completely disagree with your opinion that he blames someone else for his problems. He really had problems with his own team!! bad decisions, bad tires changes, bad strategy !!! I hope he will switch the team sometime in the future and he will prove what he is worth.
it seems that some of the old Polish-German problems have stopped Kubica from getting what he deserved. Or in other words: Germans don’t like if they don’t win in their own team
regards!

Mark Stevenson - brits should be the last people who could say that only way how Kubica can win the title is “…through luck…”
We don’t have to look far away to find somebody who win the title like that ;))))) upss

Robert Kubica isn’t the best driver in the 2008? Well lets see what Red bulletin has to say about that:D
And NO, Robert shouldn’t join McLaren, as they only respect one driver. Lewis. This is sad, but it’s true.

To Mark Stevenson.
How do you know that Kubica is going to be the champion? More of that, how do you know that he will win it through the luck? Are you Nostradamus or sth? You are resecuring in case Kubica become a world champion. In fact you admit that he is keen to be a champion, but you do not like him, like many Poles do not like Hamilton, and that is why you claim that it will only depend on the luck. Talking about the luck, what would be the final result of F1 this year if Massa’s engine would not blew up three laps before finish. Kubica is overvalued? Disagree, totally. Ask yourself what LH would achieve in BMW. Always blaiming anyone else for his failure? Well it is opposite, he admits what mistakes he has done. People will keep him in high regard? Maybe Brits ‘cos he told the truth about Hamilton’s style of driving. Kubica will prove his worth. Lets just wait two years or so when Ferrari will get him alltogether will Alonso and I can assure they will not be cleaning up

To grindcrasher:
Why do you think Kubica would like to join the team from Woking?
To the knowledge of GridCrasher: Kubica has already rejected offer from McLaren. So the question should not be “Should he join McLaren?” but “Why he has rejected McLaren’s offer already?” Maybe for gridcrasher it is unbelievable that anyone can reject fantastic offer from team of Hamiltons’s cock suckers , that is why you are asking stupid questions. The answer is simple: he does not want to lick Hamilton’s ass, when he joins Ferrari in two years time you will get another answer for your question.

I don’t think the question “Should he join Lewis Hamilton at McLaren” was a direct question, simply a sample to start the ball rolling. I think he’s quite a talented driver but the swiss team he’s driving for are still trying to develop. He should stay were he is so they can develop together. If he improves with the team then they are more likely to build the Car around him in the future which will increase his chances of contending for the championship by quite some bit.

I agree. He should join Ferrari and then we will see amazing fight between Lewis (he is awesome anyway), Fernando Alonso and our Robert Kubica. Don’t You think that fight between many drivers is more interesting than - “one actor arena” ?
Best regards to all F1 fans in UK !

I ve started to lern English three months ago so I steel do many mistakes.I have suprice for you-probably in the future year won t be F1-reason big crisis and next world war.You know probably 3 persons from Poland-Walesa,Kubica,Pope but there is one more-Jackowski(one person on the world who said two years ago there will be big crisis in bank system all over the world-start after the middle of 2008 and next world war 3 start in December 2008).This man helps Police in Poland to find lost people. He knows the future with 80%.So have the eyes open .At the start I wanted to write about next F1 season but this is more important right now.Who cares now who is better driver and the others-this is topic for February 2009-please God!

23 Sorry for my poor English but topic interesting // Nov 6, 2008 at 2:11 pm
About the drivers-who is better? You think I will say Kubica-no!I will say they all are good-Hamilton,Massa,Raikkonen,Kubica,Alonso AND THE OTHERS TOO! To see the really truth put them into the same car with the same team-from the other country they are, give the boss-he does not like anybody-you will see the truth- INCIDENTALLY IT NEVER HAPPEND!
