Ever wonder what drivers do after leaving F1? Wonder no more
The opening race of the new Speedcar Series begins this weekend at the Dubai Autodrome. Fourteen drivers will take to the grid representing seven teams.
Of those 14, seven have raced in F1 before. They are, in no particular order: Johnny Herbert (the reigning Speedcar champ), Jean Alesi, Jacques Villeneuve, Stefan Johansson, Gianni Morbidelli, Heinz Harald Frentzen and Vitantonio Liuzzi.
Combined age of the magnificent seven? A zimmertastic 285 years. It’s nice that past-it F1 drivers have somewhere to go. We wouldn’t want them to end up homeless.
