Spanish fans desperate for Alonso to leave Renault
In a poll conducted by Spain’s Sport newspaper, an overwhelming 74% of F1 fans voted in favour of Fernando Alonso moving to Ferrari.
We have no doubt that Alonso will end up wearing the red overalls of the Scuderia, but not for another couple of seasons. If you want to make money out of Alonso, bet on him moving to Ferrari in 2011, by which time Kimi Raikkonen or Felipe Massa (possibly both) will no longer have a seat.
In other Renault-related news, Flavio Briatore has announced that he will quit F1 in two years, presumably so he can dedicate more time to his charming WAG. [Guardian]

I started the “Alonso to Ferrari” rumours about June or July 2007, when it became obvious to me that moRon Dennis was secretly favouring Hamilton over Alonso…….I already had a feeling that Alonso would leave McLaren before 2008……..and i was right!!! What surprised me was that Luca di Motystupid did not sign him immediately, but i think moRon Dennis refused to let Alonso leave if he was going straight to Ferrari, so this was not possible……….but why did Monty then extend Raikkonens contract for 2 years ?? Alonso should be starting 2008 at Ferrari, both for the good of the “sport”, and US, the fans who watch!!! I can assure you all that The Tifosi and the Italian media are 100% behind wanting Alonso at Ferrari, because the Italians know he is the best!!!!!!!!

I dunno about that… Beating Schumacher for the world driver’s title twice in a row isn’t exactly what I’d call easy. Sure, his ego does tend to make itself known, but overrated? I don’t think so.
