Is this cool? Corvette transformed into Batmobile

Holy mods, Batman

bat-mobile.jpg

Take one 1978 Corvette, add high-density foam, fibreglass and shiny black superhero-grade paint. Tah-dah! You have yourself one Michael Keaton-era Batmobile.

This Batmobile is taxed and road-legal - in fact, the guy who built it drives it around his native Texas.

Is this cool? Cool, is it? Vote below…

Holy fanboy! Man builds own Batmobile

Batman fan builds replica Tumbler in his garage

homebrew_tumbler.jpg

“If you wanna be the best, if you wanna beat the rest… dedication’s what you need.”

Movie geeks don’t come more dedicated than Bob Dullam. The American slaphead built his own working replica of the ultra-cool Tumbler Batmobile - as seen in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight (overrated, btw) - in his garage, using nothing more than photos and extra features from the DVD as reference. When he’s done with the Tumbler, he may build his own Batpod.

Impressive work, obsessive fanboy.

Jarno Trulli forced into particularly gay pose

As well as racing the Batmobile around Silverstone yesterday, Toyota’s drivers also posed for photos with the two-wheeled Bat-Pod.

Jarno Trulli drew the short straw and was asked to get on the bike, adopting an arse-out riding position that reminded us of Mr Garrison’s genius “IT” vehicle from South Park.

If you haven’t seen the IT in action, shame on you. Check it out below…

F1 PR stunts: Toyota vs the Batmobile (with photos)

Timo Glock goes head to head against Batman’s ride

emp-6112748.jpg

The “Tumbler” Batmobile, seen in Batman Begins and the forthcoming Dark Knight sequel, has a modest top speed of 110mph. Toyota’s TF108 can do well over 200mph.

So it was a little unfair that Timo Glock’s TF108 enjoyed a head start when the two super vechicles went head to head at Silverstone yesterday. Of course, they didn’t really race each other - it was a PR stunt thinly disguised as a race. Oh, did we mention there’s a new Batman movie coming out? Batman Batman Batman. Got it now?

Another pic of the stunt below:

Toyota to run with Dark Knight livery at F1 British GP

Kapow! Holy PR stunts, F1!

dark-knight.png

To mark this month’s release of Batman’s latest big-screen outing, The Dark Knight, Toyota F1 will adopt a new look at Silverstone this weekend. Both its TF108s will run with Dark Knight artwork will feature on the TF108s and the overalls of Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock, as well as the team’s motor home.

Also on show at Silverstone will be the iconic Batmobile and Bat-Pod vehicles; the Batmobile will even take to the Silverstone track on Thursday evening for a demonstration run alongside the TF108. We know which car our money would be on, and it’s not the one containing a psychologically damaged superhero.
