DO RON RON RON
Proof that Ron has wires for veins?

These excerpts from an interview Ron Dennis gave recently to F1’s official website hint that McLaren’s boss is actually a state-of-the-art robot, designed and built by Vodafone, McLaren and Mercedes.
Quote 1
“I remain unflinchingly committed to the McLaren Group and the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team, and remain passionately engaged in leading the McLaren Group into exciting new areas of business, exemplified by, but not confined to, the groundbreaking projects currently being evaluated by McLaren Automotive.”

F1 RUMOUR MILL
Red Bull poised to ditch DC earlier than planned?

Vicious whispers in the paddock suggest that David Coulthard may not see out his final season in F1. The rumour goes that DC will compete in the Italian GP at Monza in a couple of weeks’ time, then step aside to let Sebastian Vettel take up his seat in the senior Red Bull outfit - something that was set to happen at the end of the 2008 campaign.
The rumour came about in the wake of Toro Rosso’s confirmation today that Sebastien Buemi and Takuma Sato will test for STR at Jerez later this month, with the quicker driver replacing Vettel in 2009. Some F1 insiders think Toro Rosso also intends to give Buemi and Sato a real trial in the last four grands prix of the year. That would leave DC out in the cold.
Will this happen? Read our verdict below:

STUCK ON ALONSO
With Alonso looking to move, BMW Sauber must be ruthless

Hans-Joachim Stuck, who drove for March and Brabham in the 1970s and now heads up Volkswagen’s racing division, has added his opinion to the great “Where next for Fernando Alonso?” debate.
Stuck believes BMW Sauber should do everything in its power to sign Alonso to partner Robert Kubica.
“It’s nothing against Nick, but unlike Kubica he is not a driver who can win a world championship,” Stuck told Sport Bild. “If you can secure an Alonso for the long term, then you must.”

RUMOUR MILL
Handsome Force India star doesn’t want a girlfriend, runs like a girl. You do the maths

Racing drivers are naturally very attractive to the opposite sex. They don’t struggle to find hot women - even the uglier drivers have good-looking WAGs. So when Adrian Sutil - who is one of the best-looking drivers currently in F1 - wrote in a column that he doesn’t have a girlfriend, nor does he want a girlfriend, it set tongues a-wagging.
Apart from the lack of a WAG by his side, there is another clue that Sutil may drive on the other side of the road: he runs in a very, very camp fashion. Oh, and in his spare time he likes to play the grand piano (really), a bit like, er… Liberace. Proof, if proof be need be.

PADDOCK TALK
Son of Keke could replace Heikki Kovalainen at McLaren

Willi Weber, the alliterative super-agent who once looked after a certain Michael Schumacher, has claimed that Nico Rosberg will be free to leave Williams if the team fails to finish fourth or better in this season’s constructors’ championship. The British team currently languishes in sixth, nine points behind fourth-placed Toyota.
In an interview with Germany’s Sport Bild, Herr Weber predicted: “Rosberg will replace Heikki Kovalainen, who will change back to Renault.”
