Vettel: “Forget Monza, now I want the world championship!”

Italian Grand Prix winner is somewhat ambitious

Sebastian Vettel

Toro Rosso’s whipper snapper Sebastian Vettel has received more than his fair share of media attention following his unexpected victory in the boot-shaped nation. In an interview with German tabloid Bild, the 21-year-old said he was not interested in the vast sum of money that lies ahead of him, and he also sheepishly acknowledged his other record (Vettel was a little too eager in Istanbul, and received his first penalty and fine after just six seconds in Formula 1).

The babyfaced German also revealed his intention to win the world championship:

“Without the goal of reaching the top, I needn’t have bothered starting in the sport. Next year I want to attack the top teams. That is always my goal: to attack, especially in the last four races! But I have never followed a plan. Of course I know what I want: My goal is the world championship. But you can’t control where life will take you. To earn a title, everything has to fall into place.”

DC takes safety precautions too far

On the grid Formula One drivers are said to be focused and in the zone, but it never seems to affect their arrogance levels, does it? Then again, if I had as many crashes as David Coulthard I would want all the safety equipment I could get my hands on!
