European supercar will appear in next summer’s block buster
The product of Michael Bay’s latest insult to narrative cinema won’t hit the multiplexes until next June, but to whet our appetites the folks behind Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen have released some footage from the set - check it out above if you can stomach Bay spouting some congratulatory nonsense.
As you can see, the much-hyped Corvette Centennial Concept and the Chevy Volt will be joined by an Audi R8, as well as the latest sportbike from Buell, the Firebolt. Whether the German motor will morph into an alien with a soft spot for humanity is currently unclear…
For your consideration: The Fast and the Furious 4
The world probably didn’t need a Fast and Furious 2 and 3, but that didn’t stop producers from churning out a couple of truly shit sequels, neither of which featured the star of the original, Vin Diesel.
Now Vin (real name: Mark Vincent) returns to the F&F franchise for a third time, having tried and failed to turn himself in to a Bruce Willis-style action hero for the 21st century. One Bruce Willis is quite enough, thanks.
Vin/Mark is rejoined by Paul Walker - who did at least stick around for 2 Fast 2 Furious - for the fourth F&F outing, due to be released next summer. Walker tried and failed to turn himself into a Brad Pitt-style leading man, but his efforts were hampered by the fact he can’t act.
Anyhoo, we won’t watch F&F4 to see Diesel and Walker chew up some of the most wooden buddy dialogue since the last Kimi Raikkonen press conference we had to sit through. No, we’ll watch it for the cars and the girls (Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster are also back), and not in that order.
A couple more official production pics after the click, plus the first trailer to hit the worldwide interweb:
Some 26 years after the original Tron came out, here’s some bootleg test footage from the sequel, TR2N. Even with this poor video quality, we can tell it’s going to look amazing when it finally hits the big screen. And it has The Dude in it! It cannot fail.
Now if only someone would invent a real lightcycle…
