Legendary stunt rider investigated by FBI over beatings
Evel Knievel fans, look away now…
A recently released 290-page FBI dossier, made public following Knievel’s death in November ‘07, shows that in 1970 the agency wanted to charge him for his alleged involvement in a series of beatings. But Knievel threatened to sue the government and so the charge never materialised.
Can this really be the man who put his name to the awesome Stunt Cycle? Say it ain’t so.
In the clip above,a stupid courageous stuntman tries to jump over a bus and some sort of large caravan trailer, but doesn’t quite fulfill his objective. Perhaps if he had seen the battered trailer (which has obviously suffered at least one crash landing before his attempt), he may have had second thoughts.
Still, for his crap attempt he manages to get a pretty rousing reaction - imagine what it would have been like if he actually cleared the thing!
Production on Quantum of Solace halted after second prang
Filming on the new Bond movie has been suspended after three accidents in five days, prompting claims that the film is “jinxed”, “cursed by gypsies”, and “burdened with a shit title”. The latest unhappy accident saw an Alfa Romeo 159 collide with a lorry, then a wall, during the shooting of a de rigeur chase scene. The crash left stunt driver Aris Comninos in a coma. He is currently in intensive care in a hospital in Verona.
