World champ buys expensive new toy

Spanish national daily Sport claims Kimi Raikkonen has recently taken delivery of a 33-metre Sunseeker Predator 108 super-yacht, which reportedly cost the Finn a cool €10m.

Raikkonen’s shiny new party boat (pictured above) has a custom interior, four cabins with bathrooms and a hot tub on deck.

This news comes just a couple of months after Kimi’s other yacht ran aground off the coast of his native Finland.

Flavio Briatore’s August break took a nasty turn when he tried to go onshore from his luxury yacht. Italian newspaper La Stampa reports that the 58-year-old Renault boss and his charming new wife were pelted with water and sand (not the most painful weapons, you’d think) by angry bathers when they tried to land on the busy Capriccioli beach in Sardinia.

The aggressive manner in which they sped ashore enraged parents on the beach, while “terrorised children wailed between the waves”, La Stampa claimed. A painful image, we’re sure you agree.

F1 world champ watches on as new toy hits rocks

Kimi Raikkonen’s new luxury yacht, a Sunseeker Predator 72 (pictured), ran aground on rocks at the weekend. Kimi’s manager Riku Kuvaja said:

“Of course he (Kimi) is irritated. But the yacht only got small scratches, nothing more.”

The accident occured on Saturday, just off the coast of Hamina, in eastern Finland. The skipper of the yacht was on his way to pick up Kimi and his three friends, who had been staying at Kimi’s mate’s summer cottage.
